Sure, they all say I have a big head, but I like to think it’s way too small for all my ideas.
It’s these ideas that help me design and develop responsive websites that work on all devices. And because I use WordPress and the Genesis Framework, you get a website that’s child’s play to manage, and an absolute joy for clients and prospects to visit.
Yep, that chubby little guy on the beach is me alright, some 40 years ago. My name’s Jan Hoek and I live
on the beautiful little Dutch island of Texel in a little town called Lattrop-Breklenkamp. I still love the beach, by the way. I guess that reflects my outlook on life and my attitude to developing websites. I mean, take a look around on the Web. Would you like one of those run of the mill sites? No, I didn’t think you would. Neither do I, and it’s my firm belief that a website should be more than just a website.
The early days
Ever since the early days, back in 2001, web development has been my biggest passion in life, apart from my girlfriend of course. Even back then, there were more web design platforms than you could poke a stick at. At first I used platforms like Movable Type, Expression Engine and LiveJournal.
All of these were OK to work with, but I knew there had to be something better. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait long. In 2003 WordPress introduced it’s open source blogging tool, which turned out to be more than excellent for developing websites too.
Make your website successful
Nowadays, I enjoy helping small business owners, bloggers and freelancers to create their very own online business hub. In fact, I do a lot more. You see, I’m not your average web developing nerd, I’m more of an intellectual badass with a soft spot for my clients and their business goals. Which means I’ll always return your emails, finish the job on time and within the budget, as well as help you out in any way I can to make your website successful.
When I’m not developing, I’m busy hanging out with my girlfriend, photographing, scuba diving, on vacation in Malaysia or walking my dog on the beach. After all, life’s a beach.
Now introductions are out of the way, what can I do for you?
